What is this site?
The purpose of this site is to showcase some of the work i've done over the past few years while living and working abroad as an interactive designer in Copenhagen, Denmark. The other purpose of this site is to read some of my non-design related blather under the blog section. Yet another purpose of this site would be to contact me for freelance design work. At no point on this site will you find me referring to myself in the third person, because that's just weird.
Who am I?
Name: Cole Dryden
Age: 32
Whereabouts: Currently dividing my time between sunny Copenhagen Denmark, Denver Colorado and Gillette Wyoming.
Knows: Flash, HTML, CSS, illustration, UI design. Speaks fluent English and Danish. Knows some funny sounding words in Swedish. I do impressions too, though not professionally.
Likes: My lovely wife, family and friends, my dog, sunshine, trekking around mountains, deep snow, green grass, natural beauty, good movies, LOST, Scrubs, good design, poker, gadgets, fly fishing, beer, cognac and a plethora of other things. Also, the word "plethora".
Dislikes: Gloomy weather for extended periods, allergies, general ignorance, jetlag, bad drivers, spiders, inconsiderate people and anything to do with Myspace.
Watching: I can't get enough of The National Geographic Channel. I also love the Discovery Channel and enjoy Mythbusters immensely. I like to edumacate myself. I also watch Scrubs and LOST religiously. Among my other guilty pleasures, i'm often immersed in my xbox360 - usually playing Gears of War.
Reading: Orson Scott Card, Carl Hiaasen.
Listening: I like good old rock 'n roll and some electronic stuff. Pop and rap doesn't really do anything for me.
Inspired: My high school art teacher, Chris Amend, convinced me to pursue art in one form or another, for a living. I recommend checking out his site. He's got some really nice prints for sale.
Why should you hire me?
Because I strive to build beautiful and engaging websites, kiosks, interface designs, flash animations and brand IDs from concept to completion using the latest technologies and best practices. Also, i'm reliable and friendly.
