I made a little movie
Thursday, May 15th 2008 at 10:09 am

Just took some shots of the garden out back this morning with my new video camera. It's a Canon HV20 and I absolutely love it. The movie is 45mb, so if you're on a slower connection there might be some intermittent pauses during playback. Enjoy!

Bowling
Tuesday, October 2nd 2007 at 11:50 pm

Uh oh, I bought a bowling ball. I guess it's serious business now.

Once every couple of weeks or so (sometimes weekly) some guys from work and I go out, drink beers and bowl and have a good time. We are getting pretty competitive with each other and usually take turns at beating the other guy.

I went for the smiley ball, but would have loved a transparent ball with a red rose in the middle a la Ernie McCracken from KingPin. I guess this one will have to do.

I also considered getting some "Pin Pals" tshirts made, but decided that would probably be a bit over the top.

And now if I can just squeeze in a Big Lebowski reference in this blog post, all will be complete.

Geeking out
Tuesday, October 2nd 2007 at 11:45 pm

I am now playing Halo 3 on the xbox 360. If anyone who reads this wants to feel my wrath in a multiplayer game, my gamertag is:

Having never played the first or second versions of this game, I wasn't sure what to expect. I have to say though, that it has exceeded my expectations. We have definitely come a long way since pinball. I am really liking the "theater" mode of this game. Basically, it records entire sessions, allowing you to save videos and send them as downloadable links to your friends over Xbox Live. You can manipulate the camera around in real time, as well as freeze the game in true Matrix-esque Bullet Time. If that weren't enough, you can also save screenshots as proof of your carnage. Fun!

New toy on the way

Thursday, September 13th 2007 at 10:59 pm

Ohhhh yes.

omg

17" macbook pro with all the trimmings. It will be in my hands on Monday. Oh, I also got the new apple keyboard too. Yay for shiny new things!

August trip details
Saturday, July 28th 2007 at 7:45 pm

Looking forward to this next August trip!

Flying from CPH to DEN the 26th of August. The usual itinerary applies. Can't wait to see Diana Krall live at RedRocks ampitheater! Heidi is scheduled to fly back to DK on Saturday the 8th, while I'll be staying a couple of weeks longer and returning on the 22nd.

The Wilhelm Scream
Wednesday, June 6 2007 at 4:48pm

Well this is interesting/hilarious. I can remember hearing this distinct "scream" in movies and tv shows before, but never realized it was so widely used and documented.

From Wikipedia: The Wilhelm scream is a stock sound effect first used in 1951 for the movie Distant Drums. Actor-singer Sheb Wooley is considered to be the most likely voice actor for the scream, having appeared on a memo as a voice extra for the movie.

The Wilhelm scream has been featured in many movies and television programs since.

And because i'm on a movie kick today, I give you The Worst Movies Ever!

Update
Sunday, May 6 2007 at 2:47am

Since I have been busy with real life projects and whatnot lately, i've neglected updating this blog. In the near future I will be adding some new projects to the work section and cleaning up the site a bit.

Really, I promise.

I'll be home for X-mas
Tuesday, December 19 2006 at 2:21am

Here is my travel itinerary:

Arrival: Thursday, Dec. 21th 2006
Depart CPH - 3:35 pm
Arrive ORD - 5:30 pm
Depart ORD - 7:50
Arrive DEN - 9:23 pm
- - -
Departure: Friday, Jan. 12th 2006
Depart DEN - 3:30 pm
Arrive ORD - 6:52 pm
Depart ORD - 10:05 pm
Arrive CPH - 1:20 pm (next day)

Right now i'm just busy with my usual pre-flight routine. Getting clothes washed, packing my exquisite reindeer-fur boots, charging the camera and iPod, surfing weather.com for flight conditions, downing Xanax by the handful - you know the drill. I'm excited for this trip, as I haven't made my x-mas journey in quite some time. I count myself lucky to be able to come home as often as I do, because I really miss my familiy and friends back home.

See ya'll soon! aeroplane

Because every once in awhile, you find gems like this.

Getting busy now
Saturday, October 21st 2006 at 3:10pm

It's going to be a busy couple of months ahead. The days are getting shorter so naturally i'm primed to hibernate in front of this computer all winter. Work is going well, there are some exciting new things i'm going to be working on and I have a couple of freelance design things happening as well. I can't really divulge anything yet, but i'm excited about these new projects.

I'm also contemplating a winter trip to the States for the holidays. I'm ready for another Deadwood excursion. I know this because my slot-pulling arm is getting antsy. More updates on this soon.

The trip, not my arm.

Whoa, an update!
Tuesday, September 26h 2006 at 8:08pm

So the U.S. trip was really fun and productive. We found our dreamhouse in Broomfield, CO. Now we just need to wait for it to be built! The best part? It sits atop a hill overlooking Boulder with a gorgeous view of the Flatirons. I can't wait to get moving!

We're now back in Denmark and busy getting back to work. There's lots of stuff to be done before the game launch in December, so that's where we're focused for the time being.

I'm going to hold off finishing this site until I get my new monitor sometime next week. Yippee!

More site tweakage
Friday, July 14th 2006 at 7:21pm

Im currently making little updates and adjustments to the site (like the entire work section for instance) so if something looks broken, then that's probably why. I also have quite a bit of cleaning up to do code-wise, so that'll take some time as well.

Hot days in Scandinavia
Friday, July 7th 2006 at 12:38 am

Warning! Weather Related Blog Post!

If the title of this entry wasn't descriptive enough, let me just say that it's hot. There isn't any air conditioning in the office, or anywhere else for that matter, which I suppose is only natural in Scandinavia - because you know - it's only really hot here for about a month out of the year. But yes, hot. And not just any hot. But the sticky, no-breeze whatsoever brand of hot.

Still, if I had the choice.. i'll take it over the drizzly grey stuff any day.

Woohoo coming home for a few weeks in August!
Wednesday, July 5th 2006 at 7:27pm

For those who need to know, I just bought my tickets and the itinerary is as follows:

Arrival: Friday, Aug. 4th 2006
Depart CPH - 3:35 pm
Arrive ORD - 5:30 pm
Depart ORD - 7:50
Arrive DEN - 9:23 pm
- - -
Departure: Wednesday, Sep. 6th 2006
Depart DEN - 3:30 pm
Arrive ORD - 6:52 pm
Depart ORD - 10:05 pm
Arrive CPH - 1:20 pm (next day)

5 weeks of sun, fun and sorely missed family. Unfortunately, Heidi will only be able to come for 2 weeks as she is much busier at work than I am at the moment. She and I will fly back to DK together on the 9th of September.

Happy 4th of July!
Tuesday, July 4th 2006 at 9:03pm

They have a 4th of july celebration in Denmark at a place called Rebild (pronounced "ray-build"). I've never been but it looks like fun.

I thought about getting some fireworks, but figured that would seem a little weird to the neighbors.
So, in honor of this fine day, i'll be drinking an honorary MGD instead.

Site redesign
Thursday, July 3rd 2006 at 10:06pm

I'm still tinkering with it, but I like the results so far. I hope you like it too.
